Scandia, MN 55073

Property Description

This home offers exceptional privacy on two acres of land and stunning views, while backing up to federally protected land. It is historically charming and truly a part of the history of the valley. This original hunting cabin was one of five built in 1940 and features a large stone fireplace on the north wall. In 1960, the cabin was expanded to include a second-level sleeping loft, a vaulted ceiling, and additional square footage on the ground floor. The St. Croix River was designated a federally protected National Wild and Scenic River in 1972. Because this cabin was grandfathered in, subsequent owners were permitted to add a well, septic system, electricity, a bathroom, a bedroom, and a screened porch. Properties like this are rare to find on the market, as most St. Croix riverfront cabins are handed down through family. Cabin is located just 50 minutes from Minneapolis. The cabin sleeps six with 2 bedrooms plus a sleeping loft. It is a two bedroom but sleeps six comfortably.
